Cell-Based Therapy

NK Cells

Understanding Of Human Immune System

The immune system defends our body against invaders, such as viruses, bacteria and foreign bodies. Different immune cells have their own functions. Immunity will gradually deteriorate as we age. The capability of the immune cell to generate and activate new immune cell will disintegrate.

There are two main responses of the Immune System

Innate Immunity Response – Primary Immune Defence

Adaptive Immunity Response – Secondary Immune Defence

NK cells are a part of the innate immunity response

What is NK Cells?

Natural Killer cells (also known as NK cells) are a type of lymphocyte (a white blood cell) and a component of innate immune system. NK cells play a major role in the host-rejection of both tumors and virally infected cells. It exists in the peripheral blood, spleen, liver and lymph nodes of the human body. It can not only inhibit the invasion of bacteria and viruses, clear cancerous and diseased cells, but also delay the aging of the body. NK Cell Deficiency People who have deficient NK cells usually of an inherited immune disorder, may be prone to certain viruses.

Why NK Cells Therapy?

The number of NK cells will gradually decline as we age. There are other factors that affect the NK Cells count such as an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, insufficient rest, smoking habit and regular alcohol consumption and etc. People who have deficient NK cells may be prone to virus infection and an increased risk of cancer.

Studies have shown that the surface protein of NK Cells is CD56+, which is a regulatory cell for the nervous, immune and endocrine systems.

It can directly strengthen and regulate the three major systems of the human body:

Cancers or viruses develop evasive strategies to avoid from being recognised by T-Cells. But NK Cells are able to kill cancer cells by recognising the difference between cancer cells and normal cells. Therefore, by increasing the number of NK Cells, their function can be enhanced and cancer can be treated more effectively although results may vary from one individual to another.

Our Lab - World’s Pioneer in Bio-Engineering

The cell processing lab has state-of-the-art facilities and the safest environment where immune cells are cultured. Moreover, the safest and most effective cells are guaranteed as all the procedures are conducted in compliance with good manufacturing practices (cGMP).
