Intralesional Corticosteriod Injection
An intralesional steroid injection involves a corticosteroid injected directly into the tissues of a skin lesion or scar to reduce symptoms associated with certain skin conditions, like itching and pain, and also lessen appearance of acne scars.
Corticosteriods used in intralesional steroid injection simultaneously reduce inflammation and suppress collagen formation to clear breakouts, and lessen scar formation.
Who is suitable for this procedure?
Acne, acne scarring, hypertrophic scars, keloid scars
Not suitable for those with active skin infection
After the procedure, you may experience redness, swelling and pain usually resolves within hours.
It is advised not to manipulate / rough touch the treated area and avoid / reduce direct sun exposure.
